 Recreational/Childcare Specialist 

 The Recreational/Childcare Specialist will work under the supervision of the AWRC’s Social Work Supervisor. The Recreational/Childcare Specialist will provide crisis intervention services to survivors of intimate partner violence and their families. The Recreational/Childcare Specialist will be expected to learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach in working with clients and will support members of the Social Service staff in providing services for parents and children. He/she provides childcare services (including infant and toddler care) when needed and actively engages with the families. The Recreational/Childcare Specialist will develop and implement an appropriate curriculum for childcare and recreational programs to ensure that education and supportive services are provided in a structured environment. This position will require in-person interaction with families. 

Resident Coordinator

 The Resident Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Assistant Director of the Allen Women’s Resource Center and/or a Social Work Supervisor. The Resident Coordinator will support crisis intervention services to domestic violence victims and their families. They will be expected to learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach in interactions with clients. The Resident Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of the shelter are always maintained and that residents have the supplies and items required for their stay – i.e. toiletries, bedding, food, and clothing. The Resident Coordinator will be responsible for securing and distributing any donations received by the shelter for our residents. The Resident Coordinator’s shift begins at 7 a.m. as they are responsible for relieving the overnight staff. This position will require in-person interaction with families.

 Housing/Vocational Specialist 

 The Housing/Vocational Specialist will work under the supervision of the Social Work Supervisor of the Allen Women’s Resource Center. The Housing Specialist will provide crisis intervention services to domestic violence victims and their families. The Housing Specialist will be expected to learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach in working with clients and will be responsible for establishing and overseeing A housing plan for each family in the shelter, from the time of admission to discharge. The Housing Specialist provides assistance, information, and support to residents in domestic violence shelters around securing safe, appropriate housing using subsidies and/or other available resources in the city that suit the family’s needs and to maintain residential stability. He/she will be responsible for documenting housing activities in a confidential, timely, and concise manner. This position will require regular and in-person interaction with families. 

Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Center Director of one of the Allen Community Senior Citizens Centers. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the overall program activities, education/recreation, maintaining of daily records, receipts, and reports for contributions of meals.

Driver

Transport elderly clients to and from various destinations including senior center, shopping, and local trips. • Assisting the participants on and off the bus; assist with their packages (within reason) • Ensure the safety of the passengers using seat belts, wheelchair tie downs, and other safety devices. • Complete daily passenger logs and maintain accurate records. • Collect and record participant contributions. • Keep vehicle clean and in good condition. • Inspect vehicle daily and report any operational or structural defects immediately. • Pickup and return vehicle to parking lot daily. • Adhere to emergency procedures when necessary. • Report all accidents immediately to supervisor. • Perform other duties as required by Supervisor.

Maintenance Worker

The Maintenance Worker will work under the supervision of the Program Director of the Allen Women’s Resource Center and/or a Social Work Supervisor. The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the center. Duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, sanitizing restroom facilities, and collecting trash to ensure the center’s residents have a clean space. The Maintenance worker will be responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and rearranging the room after a family moves out of the center. This will include moving heavy furniture and replacing mattresses and mattress coverings. The Maintenance Worker must demonstrate attention to detail and the physical strength necessary to move furniture (e.g. bunk beds, mattresses, desks, cabinets, etc.).

Counselor (Per Diem Part-time)

The Part-Time Counselor (PTC) will work under the supervision of the Allen Women’s Resource Center Social Work Supervisor. The PTC will provide crisis intervention services to domestic violence victims and their families. The PTC will be expected to learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach in working with clients and will be responsible for establishing and overseeing shelter operations overnight and during the weekend, and during the day and night shifts on weekends.
