The theme for GROP this year is "Claiming What's Ours" and our scripture for the season is “The daughters of Zelophehad are right. You shall give them possession of an inheritance among their father’s brothers and transfer the inheritance of their father to them!” - Numbers 27:7.

This year we are recruiting both mentors and mentees and the deadline for applications is September 30, 2021.

 

What you need to know about Girls Rites of Passage (GROP)

The Chosen Vessels Girls Rites of Passage ministry is a faith-based, mentoring program for teenagers, aged 13-18. Visionaries Revs. Drs. Floyd and Elaine Flake designed this ministry with the desire to prepare the next generation of women through socialization and the development of their spiritual, personal, professional and physical aspects of their lives.

1. We meet weekly for workshops with guests and bible study once a month!

2. Because we are a "village", bible studies, workshops and trainings are facilitated for mentors as well as the parents of the ministry!

3. We facilitate one on one mentor/mentee relationships based on common interests and compatibility!

4. We foster lifelong bonds with like-minded Christian women, invested in the development and progression of the next generation!

5. We coordinate an Annual Rites of Passage Retreat!

6. We acknowledge our senior vessels and vessels elevated to the next grade at our end of year Culmination Ceremony!
